My issue with the characters was even though they might not be the worst of the worst, up until say, middle of the 3rd season, they were all pretty cyclic in their ways. They did some bad stuff and they did it again and they did it again. And I understand that that is a reflection both of how they have been brought up and how the showrunner, the brilliant Jesse Armstrong sees human beings. He takes a stance leaning towards "People do not change in fundamental ways" whereas my hopeful hearts believes in the opposite. And we saw much more of the latter in this wonderful last season. I honestly think, barring Kendall, everyone else got very hopeful endings.
Tom and Shiv might not be okay right away but I am hopeful they will work it out because despite the way it happened, they have showed tremendous progress since even two seasons ago.
I do not agree with some that Roman ended where he started. He has probably the most important thing a human can possess. Enlightenment. Realism. This man is more Buddha than Kendall and I think he will make something good out of him. I am hopeful he'll walk out the bar, go and apologize to Gerri, take a long vacation, and live a enjoyable life somewhere on a beach.
Also, the best show ever.
