We all have read that a company is an artificial entity. True. But the real meaning of a company is “association of people”. A company is formed when a bunch of people with a shared goal get together to make something of high value for society. And since the company is nothing but a group of humans, the success of the company is highly correlated to the productivity and success of its individuals.

So, the human resource department plays a critical role in analysing and seeing if the employees are able to work effectively and are getting success in their work without any distraction. Such distractions not only slow business operations but can also affect the team’s performance and mental state.

Taking care of your team’s productivity, mental health and satisfaction can have great benefits-

  1. To an organization, this means reduced costs, more innovations, increased competitiveness, better working environment and eventually more profitability.
  2. To an employee, it means overall satisfaction, coordination among peers and superiors hence avoidance of conflict, increased morale, improved work-life balance and most importantly a sense of positive contribution.

We, Comunev, a social networking company, aims to connect like-minded people with our vision to make real-life connections. But, how can we do that if we are not even qualified enough to connect and take care of our team members? With an objective to build a network of people who can feel each other’s vibe, it’s necessary that we are able to create a great culture within a company that enables the personal growth of all members.

For us, our team members are not ‘assets’ on some balance sheet. We believe that they have immense potential and creativity inside and each of them is a wonderful individual with a lot to contribute. So, to bring it all together we have an EIR (Entrepreneur In Residence) project named HR Productivity. It’s there to supervise how’s everyone doing, are they doing it with their true potential or if facing any distractions, providing solutions to improve their efficiency and ensuring overall work/life satisfaction.

Since a company is a combination of diversified teams, it’s crucial to keep a track on the progress of each and every team member. As an HR Productivity EIR, one needs to keep a check on the following aspects of it.

  • Are other EIRs and team members satisfied with their performance?
  • Is there any hindrance or distractions they are facing? If yes, then providing solutions to solve such issues.
  • Researching tools that could help members to organise their way of doing things and facilitate smooth coordination and communication between each other.
  • Asking for feedback to see if they are able to achieve their targets on time and with ease.
  • Checking, if one is learning anything from the chosen projects and assigned tasks?
  • What approach they have taken to enhance their productivity and do they think they are improving?
  • How is their work/life balance?

These points are just a glimpse conveying what is the task of a person who has this project. HR Productivity might seem something very new and different because most companies don’t care about employees to such a personal level. But Comunev is different.
